Nema Workshop was invited to participate and eventually won the competition to redesign the guest rooms for a hotel in Mexico City. The winning design gently divides the space into three areas using a portal which wraps the floor walls and ceiling of the bed area. The slight sectional change distinguishes the sleeping area from the workspace and from the bathroom. The bathroom is provocative because not only is it open to the room but furthermore the freestanding shower is in the center of the space, defined by a cylindrical glass enclosure. Meanwhile underfoot, a pebble floor with tiny led lights mixed in lines the bathroom space.....
